Increasing the profitability of aftersales business
Loyalty Smart Card has been developed to provide dealers, dealer groups, and car sales networks with a Customer Retention Programme.
|
In these days of over production, there are usually more cars around than there are customers. Too many cars chasing too few customers. Yet we are casual about customer retention! It costs us typically 10 times more to win a new customer than it does to service an existing one.
With studies showing that on average only 15% of a typical dealers customer base is still with them after 5 years, and up to 1,800 car sales can be lost to a 500 car pa dealership over a 5 year period, it is vital for retailers to improve customer retention.
The basic aim of the Loyalty Smart Card System is to:
- Increase the profitability of after-sales business by encouraging take up of after sales products and services.
- Gain customer loyalty and so increase vehicle re-sale opportunities
- Encourage customers to be brand advocates creating positive word of mouth
- Provide tangible ownership benefits to vehicle owners
- Give greater long term earnings opportunities for retailers
Credit card type smart cards are issued to customers as loyalty cards. Customer information is supplied by retailers to Loyalty Logistix who create the cards and mail them to the customer.
- When a customer completes a transaction in a retail outlet the card is put into a card reader attached to a PC
- A desktop application is then used to read the card and connect to a central internet based server to retrieve information on the loyalty card program to which the card belongs
- Transactions to credit or debit the card are then carried out using the desktop application.
- The information is both written to the customer card and updated on the central server.
- The data collected on the central server is used to provide reports for loyalty scheme managers.
